From the desk of Rock Kendrick...
Thanks to supporters like you, St. Tammany Parish Hospital has grown from a small community hospital to a world-class medical center. Our hospital has made a measurable difference in the lives of individuals here at home in a way that surpasses all expectations of what we imagine a community hospital to be.
Over the last five years, I have had the opportunity to serve on the Board of Trustees for St. Tammany Hospital Foundation. As the current board chairman and owner of a business in the medical industry, I have a unique perspective on healthcare in St. Tammany Parish and have gained a heightened awareness of the importance of this hospital in our community as well as the enormous impact it has made in the lives of so many of my family, friends and neighbors. Today, I write to ask your consideration in making a gift to
St. Tammany Hospital Foundation that will make a lasting impact in the future of healthcare for our parish.
St. Tammany Parish Hospital has been working diligently with architects and national consultants to develop a comprehensive master facilities plan in an effort to steer strategic direction for the next five to 15 years. As the hospital prepares to grow and expand to further meet the needs of our community, I want to take this time to share some of the developments yet to come.
Neuro ICU: This year, STPH opened a larger operating suite to accommodate the complex neurosurgeries being performed. To complement that, they developed a Neuroscience Unit including a four-bed neuro-critical care unit and a 10-bed neuro-medical surgical care unit.
Mandeville Emergency Department: Following the main campus emergency department expansion, including the new pediatric emergency room, STPH is now opening an offsite emergency department in Mandeville to provide residents closer access to emergency care. This location will be a full-service emergency facility able to treat emergent health situations including broken bones, heart attack and stroke.
Pediatric Advancements: As the next step in their commitment to pediatric care, the hospital will soon open a four-bed pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) on the main campus. In addition, more pediatric subspecialists will be added to the medical staff, and the Madisonville location of St. Tammany Physicians Network will transition to a pediatrics-only practice.
From Parking to Private Rooms: As STPH grows, so do the needs of its campus. The hospital’s long-term plan centers on increased capacity for parking, critical care, obstetrics, interventional cardiology, imaging and surgery. A four-story addition will add new rooms and allow for existing semi-private rooms to be renovated, resulting in an all private room facility and increased patient privacy.
Our Northshore community depends on St. Tammany Parish Hospital for world-class healthcare close to home, and the hospital is preparing to meet those needs with new locations, expanded services, access to specialists, mission-driven programs and so much more. Now more than ever, our foundation needs your support.
