As it turns out, Breast Cancer Awareness Month isn’t just about annual mammograms anymore.
They’re still extremely important, mind you. According to the American Cancer Society, the five-year survival rate is 99% for breast cancers detected early and while still localized.
But with St. Tammany Hospital Foundation’s monthlong United in Pink campaign gaining steam, a number of local restaurants and other businesses are offering specials to help fund Northshore cancer care at St. Tammany Cancer Center, a campus of Ochsner Medical Center.
Below, find a listing of food specials, drink specials and other events that locals can enjoy throughout October, with the added satisfaction of knowing their sipping and supping is helping with a good cause.
Learn more about the United in Pink campaign at STHFoundation.org/UnitedinPink, and contact the foundation’s Jennifer Garrard at jgarrard@stph.org if you or your business would like to unite in the fight against breast cancer.
